How this loan calculator works
For a reducing-balance loan, monthly interest is the outstanding principal multiplied by the annual rate divided by 1,200. EMI is calculated using the standard amortizing-loan formula. The schedule rounds each monthly amount to paise and adjusts the final payment to clear the remaining balance.
Prepayment assumptions
The prepayment is applied after the selected number of regular repayments. The comparison assumes the entered EMI and rate remain unchanged. Lender-specific fees and restrictions are not included.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the lender’s final EMI?
No. The result is an estimate; the lender’s agreement determines actual terms and fees.
Can I use a zero interest rate?
Yes. At zero interest, the principal is divided across the selected months, with a final rounding adjustment.
